We are deeply saddened to report that retired Concord Police Officer Mike Foley passed away on February 23, 2017 after suffering injuries on February 22, 2017 while working as an Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy.

Mike Foley started as a Police Cadet with the Concord Police Department in 1976, and was sworn in as an officer in 1978. He served the Concord community for more than 29 years.

Mike worked a variety of assignments including Patrol, Traffic, SWAT, and School Resource Officer. Mike's work ethic was incr...edible! He had a calming influence not only on the high school students as an SRO, but also as on many of us "rookies", as well as his peers. Mike truly was a mentor, day in and day out.

Mike retired in 2007 as a Master Police Officer, yet he was not done being a part of the Thin Blue Line family. He continued his law enforcement career with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office until his End of Watch, February 23, 2017.

We appreciate Mike's family sharing him with the Concord POA for so many years. We ask that you keep Mike and all of his extended Thin Blue Line Family in your thoughts.
